Ready, Set…Hike! Young pro football fans are invited to come out to compete in the NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass and Kick competition. Punt, Pass and Kick is a national initiative that encourages local youth participation in NFL’s oldest youth football program.
To avoid long lines on the day of the event preregister by Thursday, Aug. 28. On-site registration will also be held the day of the competition. Participants must provide a copy of their birth certificate and have a parent and/or guardian complete a registration waiver form prior to the start of the competition. Age classification is as of Dec. 31 of the current year. According to NFL rules, no football shoes/cleats/turf shoes will be allowed. Participants are encouraged to bring their own water bottles.
Punt, Pass and Kick is one of many activities to be featured at the San Tan Youth Football League Opening Day. Begin the day by participating in this exciting football challenge and then join San Tan Youth Football League (STYFL) for event festivities including carnival games, inflatable attractions, team scrimmages, and scrumptious food. Admission to the event and participation in the Punt, Pass and Kick competition are free; additional STYFL activities and food have nominal fees.

Come Play the Animal Way! Enriching the lives of the animals here at the Zoo is not only fun, but very important for their well-being! Come play the animal way, during Winter in July! With tons of snow (literally), fun puzzle feeders, foraging activities, and other activities, see for yourself how the animals get to play everyday. The kids will get to play in tons of snow too, just like our animals here at the Zoo. They will also get to try out some of behavioral enrichment toys just like the animals play with! After “coolin’ off” please attend our very special Winter in July BBQ in our air conditioned Stone House Pavilion, catered by El Paso BBQ. See the details below.

Apple Camp
Make a movie. Compose a song. Create a slideshow. And show it all off to the world. Apple Camp is a great opportunity for kids to participate in hands-on workshops, have fun, and learn how to do cool stuff on a Mac. With a trusty Mac, imagination, and Apple Camp, there’s no telling what you can create. Apple Camp happens at all Apple Store locations and each Workshop is three hours. Learn iPhoto in the Photo Workshop, iMovie in the Movie Workshop, GarageBand in the Music Workshop, and iWork in the Presentation Workshop. All workshops are recommended for kids ages 8-12. You can sign up for up to two Camp Workshops at one time.

* Warm water
For each color, combine one packet of drink mix & 2 tsp. of water in a small cup. Stir until the mix dissolves. Use with paintbrushes on watercolor paper. Refrigerate any left-over paints in airtight containers for up to 3 days!
Kool-Aid Playdough
* 1/4 c. salt
* 1 pkg. unsweetened Kool-Aid (just dry mix - DON'T add water!)
* 1 c. boiling water
* 1 1/2 Tbl. vegetable oil
In a bowl, mix flour, salt & Kool-Aid. Stir in water & oil. Knead with hands for about 5 minutes. Store in a zipper bag for up to 2 months. Smells great & takes on the color of the mix! Use different Kool-Aid flavors for different colors & scents!!
